SEAL ISLAND
At Seal Island, Maine, USA. This live puffin cam overlooks the “loafing ledge” on Seal Island, 21 miles off the coast of Maine. The loafing ledge is a prime spot for puffins to congregate, with plenty of “exit routes” in every direction in case a hawk or gull attacks.

Puffin Burrow – Exterior View. Located 21 miles off the coast of Maine on Seal Island, this live puffin cam shows the comings and goings of a pair puffin parents, leaving their burrow and returning with bills full of fish to feed their chick, nestled safely inside. We hope to catch the moment at summer’s end when the puffling fledges, leaving home for the first and last time, going out to sea alone to return to Seal Island in two or three years!

A collection of boulders that were scraped smooth and deposited by glaciers on Maine’s Seal Island about 10,000 years ago. This live cam gives an above-ground view of the densest puffin community on the island–more than 100 puffin pairs nest here! Careful observers just might see puffin parents enter their burrows from above after running and hopping over these boulders.
