The Black Mountain Cam is one of the Western North Carolina Mountain Web Cams that is not located within the High Country areas of Boone, Blowing Rock, or and Banner Elk. Black Mountain North Carolina is a town and a mountain range in Buncombe County, just outside of the beautiful area of Asheville. Known for its towering mountain peaks, fun hikes and close-knit arts community, Black Mountain is a scenic getaway spot where many choose to vacation just outside of the tourist hotspot of Asheville. The current angle at which this camera is directed points towards the Black Mountains and the pristine Swannanoa Valley. The Summit Cam is another one of our Beech Mountain webcams that displays the current conditions, skier traffic, and happenings that are going on at the North Carolina ski resort. It is positioned at the top of the mountain and located on the deck of the popular 5506′ Skybar, which has quickly become a favorite of visitors to the resort. This cam will be especially useful during the winter months but should also give some spectacular year round views of the surrounding mountain landscape. In particular, this view will feature a great shot of the beautiful fall foliage that the NC mountains are known for.

The CCC&TI Watauga Campus Cam switches between breathtaking views of Grandfather (Calloway Peak), Hanging Rock, White Rock and Beech mountains to the west, and Snakeden and Rich mountains to the east of campus. The views can change from minute to minute thanks to Watauga County’s unpredictable weather. Mornings often feature foggy conditions and the view to the west offers spectacular sunsets on clear evenings. CAPE FEAR
FRYING PAN TOWER OCEAN VIEW WEBCAM
This ocean cam is affixed to the Frying Pan Tower, 34 miles off the coast of Cape Fear, North Carolina. The tower was built in the 1960s to warn ships of the shallow waters nearby. Though GPS navigation technology means this tower is no longer used for its original purpose, it’s an important ecosystem for marine wildlife (check out the underwater shark cam to see what they mean) and provides a beautiful view of the sun rising and setting over the Atlantic Ocean.
The Frying Pan Tower, a surplus Coast Guard Light Station, is located far out in the Atlantic Ocean 34 miles off the coast of North Carolina. The tower is being restored by volunteers through FPTower Inc. a 501(c)3 nonprofit for future generations. WEBCAM OF OSPREY IN LAKE NORMAN
EarthCam and the North Carolina Wildlife Federation bring you a live streaming bird’s-eye-view of osprey and heron rookery nests located on Lake Norman in Mooresville, NC. These cameras highlight the work of the Wildlife Federation and its local chapter, the Lake Norman Wildlife Conservationists – a community based organization established to support conservation of wildlife habitat and natural resources. The nesting platforms include osprey located in the shallow waters surrounding a small wooded island and a large heron rookery. The nesting sites are a part of a multi-year effort to support osprey, herons and other wildlife in North Carolina’s largest inland reservoir and river system, made possible through grants from Duke Energy’s Catawba Wateree Habitat and Enhancement Program.
