LIVE Yellowstone National Park!

Yellowstone National Park is a nearly 3,500-sq.-mile wilderness recreation area atop a volcanic hot spot. Mostly in Wyoming, the park spreads into parts of Montana and Idaho too. Yellowstone features dramatic canyons, alpine rivers, lush forests, hot springs and gushing geysers, including its most famous, Old Faithful. It’s also home to hundreds of animal species, including bears, wolves, bison, elk and antelope. Beneath the surface of Yellowstone lies a vast and restless magma chamber, which fuels the park’s geothermal activity and is responsible for the geysers, hot springs, and other unique features. The park is home to over 10,000 geothermal features, making it the largest concentration of geysers in the world. These geothermal features are a result of the intense heat and pressure generated by the underlying volcanic activity. Old Faithful, perhaps the most famous geyser in the park, erupts with impressive regularity, shooting boiling water and steam high into the air. It is a symbol of the dynamic and active nature of the Yellowstone Caldera. Other notable geysers include Castle Geyser, Grand Geyser, and Steamboat Geyser, which is the tallest active geyser in the world and can erupt water over 300 feet (91 meters) into the sky. In addition to geysers, Yellowstone is known for its colorful hot springs. These vibrant pools of water are created by the interaction of volcanic heat and various microorganisms that thrive in the extreme conditions. The Grand Prismatic Spring is the largest and most famous of these hot springs, with its stunning hues of blues, greens, and oranges.
